FINNAIR IS IN THE MIDDLE OF REFITTING THERE NEW BUSINESS CLASS PRODUCT.
THIS REVIEW HAS BEEN MADE ABOUT THE OLD BUSINESS CLASS PRODUCT.

On my way to Singapore, I flew Finnair from Amsterdam because they had a great deal on there Business Class fares.
I takes a little bit longer to fly from Amsterdam to Helsinki and than onwards to Singapore, but if they offer you a great fare, why not.
It was for me the first time I flew Finnair and wanted to see what they offer for Business Class concept.

I departed 30 minutes late from Amsterdam with there Airbus 320, due to a late arrival of the aircraft.
The Business Class seats on short haul are not that special, just 3 seats on each side with a blocked middle seat.
I went for a quick sleep and skipped the meal service.

I arrived on time at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport on time.
I connected to the Free Internet Wifi Service at the airport (they should offer this free internet service in every airport)
Before I new the plane, an Airbus 340-300, was ready to start boarding for the flight to Singapore.

I was welcomed by the friendly cabin crew.
The cabin crew was not that young, but also not that old.
European and American Airlines have older crew members.
Asian and Middle East Airlines, mostly work with younger crew members.
I think that you can only be a flight attendant till a certain age in these countries.

I was welcomed with a welcome drink and turned on my Iphone music and went for a early sleep.
I would have more time on my way back to talk about the service and I did not sleep very well the day before, so every sleep was welcomed.

I arrive at 17.25 at Changi Airport and rushed to the Capella Hotel in Singapore for my meeting.
Lucky there was no traffic jam.

3 days later I flew back with flight AY82 from Singapore to Helsinki.
The flight departs Singapore at 23.50 so you have enough time to spend the day in Singapore.

I went to the DNATA Premier Check in Lounge, a special check in service only for Business Class passengers.
They offered me a drink and gave me the boarding pass and I got invited to visit the SATA Business Lounge.
As Finnair is also a member of the One World alliance, I went to the larger Qantas / British Airways lounge.
The food here was great and enough drinks available.
A minor problem, it was very busy in the lounge, but I found myself a nice seat.
There are no boarding calls in the lounge, so you have to watch the time and check the boarding time your self.

I went to the gate to board the Airbus 340-300, but there was a technical problem and boarding was delayed by 45 minutes.
Finally I could board the plane but it was really warm (let say hot) onboard.
It looked there was a big problem with the air-conditioning, but as soon as the pilot fired up the engines, the temperature went down to normal levels.
I also noticed that the cabin layout could use a refurbishing maintenance.
This Finnair Airbus 340-300 was one of the older aircrafts in there fleet.

The flight attendant offered me a drink and a fresh towel to start off with.
One hour later as planned we took off for our flight to Helsinki.
I was watching the Inflight Entertainment System, but it was a bit unsharp.
The IFE is placed  in de seat in front of you.
The seat is a lie flat seat that reclines 180 degrees.
The seats are not that comfortable if you are taller that 190 cm’s, your feet will have a problem.

I started my Macbook and got connected to the Power Point which is located in every seat onboard.
Soon it was time to put my Macbook away as the dinner was served.
The food was fine (not special) and the meals are served on a plate and they also offer you Soup.
At the end there was the ice-cream from Haagen-Dazs and Coffee.

After dinner I finished my photo work and went for a sleep as this is a Red Eye flight.
2 hours before the landing at Helsinki Airport they woke me up for breakfast.
I did not feel like eating, but went for the Yoghurt and Bread with Cheese.

We arrived 50 minutes late, but I still managed to catch my flight to Amsterdam.
There was only about 20 minutes between the landing and the connecting flight, lucky they held the plane on the ground for all connecting passengers.
Before we took off the plane had to be de-iced so that took a few minutes but we arrived on time in Amsterdam.

Finnair is a good airline that I would fly more often but only not to Singapore as its shorter to fly directly from Amsterdam to Singapore.
But if they offer a special Business Class fare again, I would suggest this trip to everybody who wants to fly Business Class.
