Four Seasons Hotel Singapore

Looking for a luxury hotel near the business and shopping heart of Singapore? Then check out the Four Seasons Hotel at 190 Orchard Boulevard.
It is just a 3 minute walk to Orchard Road, a great place to spend the day shopping.

After a long flight from Helsinki with Finnair my limo service was waiting for me at Changi Airport.
In Singapore I always use Limo Cars Singapore at limocars.com.sg.
They are not expensive and always reliable.
Nick is mostly my regular driver.
I call him jokingly my own Max Verstappen (a Dutch racing driver who competes in Formula One).
Nick is focused on service and in 15 minutes I was at the Four Seasons Hotel.

The Four Seasons Hotel is a luxurious 5 star hotel and the moment you enter you feel the unique atmosphere.

At the moment the doorman opens the door for you, the special experience begins.
You find yourself in a world of service and helpfulness.

My luggage was quickly put on a trolley and the concierge escorted me to the front desk.
I was impressed by the warm tone of the large mostly marble reception and lobby area.

I do not know how they do it at the Four Seasons Hotel, but on arrival I was addressed directly by name: Hello Mr Smulders, welcome to the Four Seasons Hotel.
We have all the information from you and wish you an enjoyable time here in our hotel and in Singapore.
Your Premier Room 1119 is ready and your luggage is on its way to your room.

Well, that was fast because not even 2 minutes ago my bags were still downstairs with the concierge.
The receptionist escorted me to my room on the 11th floor, and the door opened to room 1119.
I knew immediately I was going to enjoy my stay.
And indeed my luggage was already in the hall.

Room 1119 is a premier room on the corner of the hotel.
I was struck by the spaciousness of this 58 square metre room and its beautiful view of the city.
The room’s free Wi-Fi was a reasonable speed.
Facetime and VOIP calls did not present any problems.

The room has a large desk to work on and a very nice lounge chair for reading a book or newspaper.
Before you know it you have fallen asleep in this comfortable lounge chair.

The room has a large flat screen TV, and there are plenty of TV channels available.
The very large bathroom is a haven of tranquillity and luxury, complete with pleasant scents and soaps.
It consists entirely of marble with a separate toilet, bidet area and a rain shower.

Just to get some exercise after a flight of more than 13 hours I took a little walk around the corner to Orchard Road before bed.
The king bed was super comfortable, not too hard and certainly not too soft.
The room had a dimming lamp beside the bed that was easy to find at night.
Sometimes you do not know where you are when you sleep in a hotel after a long flight.

At 8am it was time for a nice shower and then breakfast.
Breakfast is served in the One Ninety Restaurant.
At this award-winning restaurant, authentic Western and Asian cuisine takes centre stage in an open dining concept.
The restaurant features a Theatre Kitchen where you watch the chefs showcase their skills.

But in the mornings it is decorated as a deluxe breakfast buffet.
The choice is so wide that all tastes are catered for.

I started with a nice cappuccino, and then some fresh orange and mango juice.
The chef made me a super yummy omelette.
I added freshly toasted bread and a croissant and finished with fresh fruit and yogurt.
The super breakfast made a good start to the day and it was time for work.

Late afternoon back at the pleasant hotel it was time for some exercise.
The gym is not for me, but a few laps in a pool always suits me.

The hotel features two swimming pools, one on the top floor and the other on floor 3.
The pool on the top floor of the hotel is particularly nice.
You have a breathtaking view of the city.

What struck me most about this hotel was the friendly atmosphere and perfect service.
The room was great and especially peaceful for a hotel.
It gave me a sense of luxury but also made me feel like I was home.

This hotel is definitely high on my list of recommended hotels for downtown Singapore.

Btmagazine ranks this hotel as an excellent hotel.
