On this city trip to the capital city from Spain, we where looking for a nice luxury hotel to stay.
We liked to stay close to the centre, but not in the middle of the centre.
Madrid has a new Business centre close to the airport and it takes only 20 minutes with public transport to the old City Centre.
This would be a great place to stay, so we booked for the Sheraton Madrid Mirasierra Hotel and Spa, right in the middle of the business area.
The Sheraton Hotel offers a free Shuttle service from the airport to the hotel and back.
It only takes about 15 minutes from the airport to get to the hotel.
As soon as we had landed, the Mercedes Limo Van was already waiting for us.
Hello Mr Smulders, we noticed you would arrive a little bit early with your party, so can I take your luggage.
We arrived with our group of 4 at the hotel and the checkin staff was waiting for us.
It was not busy at all, it looked like we would stay in an empty hotel.
We arrived on a Friday and we would leave on a Sunday, but all the business men already left for the weekend.
A great reason why you get such a great deal on your stay during your weekend.
The hotel would be fully booked from Monday ‘s till Friday’s but over the weekend it would have plenty rooms available.
As the hotel was not busy at all, the checkin staff member asked us, if we would like to be upgraded to an executive club level floor, free of charge.
We where surprised, but liked the idea, free access to the Club Lounge.
Lots of Drinks, Appetizers and Wifi Connection and Breakfast free of charge.
Mister Smulders you will have room 608 and they other guest will be staying in room 610.
It was time to check our room.
Would in be great?
As soon as we opened the door, we where overwhelmed by the spaciousness of our room.
Over 6o m2 of space and 4 adults can stay in this room according to the hotel information.
The Deluxe Suites are designed in contemporary style and this categoryalso features the popular beds Sheraton Sweet Sleper brand.
Which includesspacious seating area with sofa and work area, dressing room and bathroom withtub and shower.
The bed was great, very comfortable to sleep and the pillows where great as well.
The separate bath was nice, but as I am more into nice showers the power shower was great for me.
It was time to check out the executive Lounge on level 10.
We where welcomed by the friendly reception staff and they offered us a nice glass of Champagne.
The lounge is open from 0600 till 00.00 and they offer small snacks, Soft Drinks, Beer, Wine and Champagne through out the day.
We spend a great time in the Sheraton Executive Lounge and the wine was great.
It was time to explore the Capital City from Spain.
Madrid is a great place for a city trip, just a weekend away.
Enjoy the many Museums, the Kings Palace and off course the Spanish Tapas.
Take a Metro Pass for the weekend and travel the subway in Madrid to see the city and attractions.
From sprawling museums to traditional restaurants and bars, every corner you turn uncovers a spot that draws in tourists and locals alike.
Visiting a city as big as Madrid and managing to see and do all it has to offer is no easy task.

It was time for another day in Madrid, but first to start the day, a great breakfast.
The breakfast is served on level 0 at the Verdil Restaurant.
A breakfast with many options, there is something for everybody to eat.
Fresh Orange Juice or a nice Cappuccino.
It was time to get ready for our free hotel shuttle service to the airport.
It was time to get back to Amsterdam.
The Sheraton Madrid Mirasierra Hotel and Spa is a very good Luxury 5 star hotel.
For sure we will get back to this hotel, and I am sure we will have the great service as we had experienced during this stay.
The Sheraton Hotel is a hotel that you should visit in the weekends, when the prices are really great.
Throughout the week the hotel will be fully booked by the Business men, but over the weekend the hotel will be running low on occupancy.
