I was invited bij Swiss International Airlines to visit the 5 star Lenkerhof Alpine Resort to taste the meals in the Lenkerhof restaurant prepared by Chef Jan Leimbach.
Chef Jan Leimbach was the creator for all the meals served onboard all Swiss long haul flights in the First- and Business Class, for the first 3 months of 2012.

The Lenkerhof in Lenk is located close to Gstaad and features a wide range of up-to-date wellness facilities.
These facilities include indoor and outdoor pools, saunas, steam baths and jacuzzis.

As soon as you arrive at the Lenkerhof Alpine Resort Hotel you are warmly welcomed  in an exclusive ambiance of luxury.
The moment you enter the hotel you will notice that this is a very special and trendy hotel.
Immerse yourself in a world of casual luxury.

After the check-in procedures you will be handed over the hotel key.
Not a normal keycard like I was used to receive, but all the keys are attached to big locally found stones.

The hotel offers a half board service, so all the excellent meals and the non Alcoholic drinks in the Minibar are included in the price.
The hotel lobby looks stunning, so I was wondering if my hotel room would also be that great.

I was booked for a loft suite with room number 122.
It was at the end of the hallway and I was impressed when I opened my hotel door.
When you enter the room you will find yourself standing in your large Bedroom.
Past the corridor and separate bedroom you will come to the jewel of the Loft suite: a plush, free-standing designer bathtub, a delight for young and old to like.
You can always have a shower in the separate bathroom while another person can have a bath in the Loft Suite.

The Loft Suite presents a Mediterranean style of decor.
From the oversized balcony you will have a breathtaking panoramic view over the valley.
In January there was over 140 cm of snow and the valley looked like a scene in the movies.
The Lenkerhof Alphine Resort Hotel offers free WiFi Internet to there guests through-out the hotel.
I took a shower and had a relaxing moment on the balcony, breathing the health Mountain air and watching the skiers passing directly below my balcony.

It was time to start the first of the two tasting that Chef Jan Leimbach would prepare for me that day.
You can choose between two restaurants: the Spettacolo Restaurant or the Mediterranean Oh de Vie Restaurant.
For Lunch I was asked to go to the Mediterranean Oh de Vie Restaurant where I started with a 14 course lunch, yes 14 dishes to finish up.
No matter whether you choose meat, fish or a vegetarian meal, the chef creates a master piece and finishes up with the best dessert I ever had.
The quality, presentation and taste deserves the highest ranking possible a 10.

After 14 dishes it was time to start off with making a long walk in the beautiful area surrounding the hotel.
I had to make some space for dinner later that evening, especially as the Chef told me he had a 19 course dinner in mind.
I thought he was joking but he wasn’t, 19 dishes I had to taste and finish in another 8 hours.

After the long walk and getting myself ready for dinner, it was time to go to the other restaurant the Spettacolo.
The Chef made sure that even the most discriminating gourmets where not disappointed at all.
Lucky for me the portions where not too big so I just could handle the 19 courses.
The food, taste and presentation was Suburb, I even finished up the Fish and I don’t like Fish at all.
A better compliment for a Chef is not possible I would say, if you are eating something that you don’t like to eat.

It was time to sit down at the bar for a while and have a nice cocktail to finish the spectacular day.
I went to room and had a great night sleeping in the very comfortable bed.
I slept with my window open to let the nice mountain air fill my room.

I woke up in the morning very relaxed to get ready for a special 7 sources Wellness treatment in the hotel.
7 sources is the name of the extensive beauty and wellness programme at Lenkerhof, based on the seven springs from which the region draws its energy.
It was great to receive such an amazing treatment.
A swim in the outside swimming pool while you are surrounded by the snowy mountains felt incredible.
Before I knew, I had to start packing my suitcase to leave this beautiful hotel.

The Lenkerhof Alpine Resort is one of the most modern, most unconventional luxury hotels in Europe.
Here you will find everything you might need for a highly enjoyable time of rest, relaxation, regeneration and inspiration for sure.
